University College London and the Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment organize joint workshop on climate policy

The University College London (UCL) organized a final workshop related to the CECILIA2050 project at the Senate House of the University of London on the 27th October 2015.The workshop was organized in conjunction with the Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment. The event drew on the work and insights from CECILIA2050 project and reflected on current developments in UK energy policy making, and on how they should develop over the course of this Government, in order to meet the statutory UK emission reduction targets. The workshop addressed questions related to innovation and energy policy, including energy efficiency in buildings and the promotion of renewable energy sources. The issue of ‘credibility’ of policies was discussed in the course of the workshop as well. The workshop featured speakers from UCL and the Grantham Research Institute as well as other external experts.
