Charles University Environment Centre (CUNI)

Charles University belongs to the most eminent educational and scientific
establishments in the Czech Republic. It employs more than 7,500 people, more then
4000 of these are academic and research workers and it aims to be recognized as a
competitive research university on the world stage. It stresses international cooperation
with prestigious educational and scientific establishments. Charles University is an
accredited public university; it is an autonomous scientific and educational
establishment. The Environment Center of the Charles University in Prague is the
leading institution in environmental research, especially its socio-economic aspects, in
the Czech Republic. It has long term experience and has been participating in many
national and international research projects within the Framework Programmes of EC,
EEA or in cooperation with OECD. Its main research focus lies in benefit valuation,
consumer behaviour and demand analysis of environmentally-related goods,
quantification of external costs and analysis of economic, environmental and distributive
impacts of environmental regulation.
